At 28 years old, Shane Churla moved to Dallas along with the North Stars back in 1993.
"I had no idea what to expect, to be honest with you," Churla said Saturday. "But I could tell from the first couple of games the direction it was going to go."
It didn't take long for Dallas to discover the enforcer who amassed more than 1,800 career penalty minutes. He quickly became a fan favorite.
On Saturday, he was honored at the Stars' first "Reunion Night" of the season, honoring the franchise's 25 years in Dallas.
The Stars honored Churla with a pregame video presentation that led to a standing ovation from the crowd.
