It worked for Jerry Jones; could college-to-NHL gamble on new coach Jim Montgomery pay off for Stars?

The first thing you should know about your favorite hockey organ-eye-zation is that the Stars are now aligned just Jim-dandy: Jim Lites as CEO; Jim Nill, general manager; and Jim Montgomery, the rookie head coach. To avoid confusion, the new guy says to call him Monty.

Next, Lites says he thinks they've hired a coach for life. His life, not Montgomery's, but, hey, close enough. Especially at the current rate of Stars coaches.

Nill is on his third coaching hire in just five seasons as GM. This isn't exactly a tried-and-true game plan to get back the Stanley Cup.
