CHICAGO -- It was a move necessitated by injuries and travel, but one that Lindy Ruff was not completely opposed to.
The Stars coach played defenseman Patrik Nemeth as a wing Sunday in Chicago, a rare but familiar move. Ruff played both wing and defense in his 12-year playing career, so he understands the dynamics. However, he hasn't done it much since getting hired to coach the Stars in 2013.
"We've used different guys in practice from Jordie Benn to Nemeth and (Jamie) Oleksiak," Ruff said. "It's not a difficult situation and it's an opportunity to get in the lineup.
