Alexander Radulov took a seat on the bench with 10:20 remaining in the first period of the Stars' 2-1 loss to Los Angeles on Tuesday night. He had five shifts in the game at that point, but one of the Stars' most potent forwards would have to wait for his next one.
He was benched, stapled to the green slab behind the boards by Stars coach Jim Montgomery for talking back to the first-year NHL coach.
"I got benched," Radulov said. "It was the right decision by coach. I wasn't playing good and I talked back with Monty and he basically sat me until the end of the period.
