In an effort to curb an influx of tickets on the secondary market, the Stars instituted geographic restrictions on who could purchase playoff tickets, team president Brad Alberts said.
After the Stars clinched a playoff berth with a 6-2 win over Philadelphia on Tuesday night, the team announced their plan for selling playoff tickets, which included restricting sales only to residents of Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana. Tickets go on sale Saturday at 10 a.m., but there is a presale Thursday at 10 a.m.
"At this point, we're just trying to do it to protect the secondary market," Alberts said.
