How the Stars will try to replace defenseman John Klingberg during his four-week absence

FRISCO -- Stars defenseman John Klingberg will be out at least four weeks after undergoing hand surgery on Friday morning, coach Jim Montgomery said. Klingberg was initially hurt blocking a shot during the Stars' 4-3 win over San Jose on Thursday night.

Klingberg blocked an Evander Kane shot with his left hand with about 14 minutes remaining in the third period on Thursday night. He immediately hunched over and then went to the bench. Klingberg did not play the remaining 13:56 of the game.

The team placed Klingberg and Alexander Radulov (lower-body) on injured reserve on Friday, and recalled defenseman Joel Hanley from AHL affiliate Texas.
