How the Stars were able to get back on track with the power play

The hockey gods have been pretty tough on the Stars this year.

Well, to be fair to the hockey gods, the Stars have also been pretty tough on the Stars this year.

Dallas’ injury issues continued to pile up Friday, as Martin Hanzal was shut down for the season because of a need for spinal fusion surgery, and both Mattias Janmark (illness) and Marc Methot (lower body) were late scratches.

But Dallas found a way to take a 2-1 win over Anaheim with two third period power play goals. That win pushes the Stars to 38-24-6 (82 points) and puts them four points safe in a battle for a playoff spot and just one point behind Minnesota for third place in the Central Division.
