A quiet trade deadline day for the Stars on Monday reinforced the message that the summer's shopping spree garnered more than enough groceries to last the entire season.
By making no moves while Central Division rivals Winnipeg and Nashville made significant ones, the Stars offered a strong statement about the players who are here. General manager Jim Nill basically told players and fans the acquisitions that were made in the offseason should be enough for this team to embrace the philosophy of "win now."
"I like our dressing room," Nill said Tuesday after explaining the prices were too high to get any deal done for Dallas.
