Saturday's 3-2 loss to the Penguins dropped the Stars to 38-31-6 on the season, and conjured memories of last season's March slide out of the postseason.
Last year, the Stars lost eight straight games from March 11-28, including a stretch of four games in Canada. The Stars missed the playoffs by two points.
After the loss, the Stars held a playoff spot by three points over Arizona and Minnesota. They are six points behind St. Louis for third place in the Central Division. Dallas plays at Winnipeg on Monday, followed by a back-to-back in Calgary and Edmonton, and finishing with a date in Vancouver.
