Heika: Stars' hope to balance risk/reward factor by keeping top four defensemen consistent

DENVER -- The Stars on Tuesday had maybe the best example of what's good and bad in their top defensive pair.

John Klingberg had a goal and an assist, played 25:06 and was a plus-4, yet was still on the ice for a half dozen quality scoring chances against. Alex Goligoski logged 26:57, had an assist, and was also plus-4, yet he had five official giveaways and was saved on countless occasions by goalie Antti Niemi.

It was the yin and yang of the Stars this season, and the thing that many believe will either make 2015-16 a success or a failure.
