Heika: No goalie, but patience Stars showed in draft's 1st round might be best approach and a sign of things to come

The Stars waited Friday during the first round of the NHL draft.

While St. Louis traded goalie Brian Elliott to Calgary, while several other teams traded draft picks to get more draft picks, while players went off the board one by one. Dallas waited until the 25th pick, selected the player most experts said should go there, and then packed up to get ready for Day Two Saturday.
