The Stars might have been in their black third jerseys tonight, but they were certainly the greener team in tonight's loss to the Griffins. With Dowling up in Dallas, the Stars rolled out four centermen who, at this time last week, were not in the AHL.
"Our four centermen tonight were all rookies, so you're throwing them in a playoff race," said Coach Laxdal. "It's an all-stakes-in race to make the playoffs. They battled, but at the end of the day, I think experience probably ended up winning the game for [Grand Rapids]."
"I think we had some good opportunities," added Nick Caamano, who had a goal on the night.
