Goligoski trade shows Stars beginning to turn over roster in hopes of taking advantage of big, strong kids

For a team that finished first in the Western Conference, the Stars could go through a lot of changes this summer.

The first came Thursday when Dallas traded potential free agent Alex Goligoski to the Arizona Coyotes for a fifth round draft pick (128th overall). The Stars had talked to Goligoski about a possible contract extension, but the two sides couldn't find common ground, and the best alternative was to get something in return for Dallas.

Goligoski, 30, has led the team in time on ice for the past five seasons and was third on the team in tenure.
