The NHL this week will start the process of stocking its next expansion team, and armchair GMs everywhere are celebrating.
The league made public the lists of protected and exposed players Sunday morning, and the Vegas Golden Knights have until Wednesday to make their selections. Vegas must take one player from each team, but is allowed to make side deals so it can gain draft picks or multiple prospects in exchange for passing on an exposed player a team might not want to lose.
It's a complicated process, and that's one reason fans are so geeked. Many have their own ideas on what Vegas or their own team should do, and it makes for some pretty lively debate.
