Rich Peverley’s life has been turned upside down in the past two years, but the former Stars player said he is ready to move forward with a positive outlook after announcing his retirement Friday.
Peverley collapsed on the ice at American Airlines Center March 10, 2014 during a cardiac incident. He was revived by emergency medical personnel and Stars trainers, and said he has not had a health scare since. However, the mental challenges have been daunting and have forced him to look at every aspect of his life.
Peverley worked with the Stars and pursued a possible return to play last season, but he also spent time with his wife Nathalie, daughter Isabelle and son Frederick and, maybe most importantly, his thoughts.
