Devin Shore is self-aware. The Stars forward knows that he hasn't scored in 25 games. But he also understands his role on the team is not to be a significant scorer. Shore is counted on to use his speed to forecheck, to kill penalties and to occasionally score goals.
So when you look at Shore's numbers this season -- five goals and 12 assists in 41 games -- it's not surprising that they are in line with his career figures. The last two seasons, Shore averaged 12 goals and 20.5 assists. Had he not missed time with a lower-body injury, he would be on pace for 10 goals and 24 assists.
