This morning, the Dallas Stars re-assigned forward Denis Gurianov to their AHL affiliate, the Texas Stars.
Over the last two games of the Stars current homestand, Gurianov averaged just over seven minutes of ice time and under ten shifts per game. In 11 games this year, he has scored one goal with two assists. While at Texas, he has played 23 games, registering 9 goals and 19 assists.
Gurianov played in all nine games since his most recent call-up in mid-December, including time on the first line. The Stars organization appears to value Gurianov’s abilities as a potential top six forward, so the assignment to Texas will allow him to get top minutes instead of languishing in a bottom six role with the NHL team.
