The Dallas Stars have announced their roster for the four-day training camp event in Cedar Park, Texas, a smaller town northeast of Austin. It features 62 players, including 37 forwards, 20 defensemen, and five goaltenders. You might be thinking one thing: that’s a lot of bodies, and you’re right.
The Stars are bringing 13 more athletes to Cedar Park for the tune-up drills of camp than they did in 2016, which puts a huge emphasis on the importance of competition. With so many bodies flying around the ice, the players on the bubble of making the Dallas Stars, or for some, getting an American Hockey League shot with the Texas Stars, will have to put 110% into every drill for coaches and scouts to lay an eyeball on them.
