Trade season kicked off for the Dallas Stars and Anaheim Ducks early on Monday morning.
Earlier today, the announcement was made that the Stars had traded forward Devin Shore to the Ducks in exchange for forward Andrew Cogliano.
It was assumed that the Stars would need to make a trade to bolster their scoring efforts sometime this year. But with the NHL Trade Deadline more than a month away, Dallas went ahead and crafted player-for-player trade with another team still in the playoff chase in the Western Conference.
Shore, 24, was originally drafted by the Dallas Stars in the second round of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft.
