Whenever a team’s season ends in any professional sport, the prospect of change floats into the spotlight. Whether they missed the playoffs or fell short somewhere along the postseason road, the fact of the matter is that they didn’t achieve the ultimate goal.
And so, the hope for change is established. As the offseason rolls around, fans begin construing their own ideas of the “perfect summer” for their team, including which players the team should both let go and retain as well as which players they should target on the market and in the draft.
It’s a natural, annual cycle and makes the period of inactivity more enticing and intriguing.
