The Dallas Stars are on the move once again. With just two days remaining until the free agent market opens up, the Stars have ramped up their activity, getting all the necessary moves worked out before July 1st.
First off, the Dallas Stars locked up Antti Niemi for good. With a 3-year, $13.5 million deal, Niemi is officially a member of the Dallas Stars organization. This now gives the Dallas Stars two quality starting goaltenders, each with a chip on their shoulder to improve their game. GM Jim Nill loved the idea of a two-goalie system, and feels that all the great NHL teams require a two-goalie system nowadays.
