SportsDay's Stars insider Mike Heika reports Antti Niemi was the first off the ice at today's morning skate, indicating he will get the start over Kari Lehtonen.
Lehtonen started the first three games of the series. He had a shutout in Game 1 and picked up the win in Game 2, getting within seven minutes of picking up a second straight shutout victory.
But Lehtonen allowed four goals on 24 shots in Game 3, which was enough for Stars coach Lindy Ruff to apparently make the switch.
Niemi, who was 25-13-7 on the season, told reporters yesterday that he'd be ready to step in if he was called upon to start for Game 4: “I am ready.
