The Dallas Stars and Arizona Coyotes got the trade-watch seagulls perked up today as they completed a swap of minor-league players. The Stars picked up goalie Justin Peters and defenseman Justin Hache from the Coyotes’ development system in exchange for older prospects Brendan Ranford and Branden Troock.
As to why the Stars might have made this move, Peters has NHL experience that would allow him to serve as a short-term backup should either Kari Lehtonen or Antti Niemi get injured or be otherwise unavailable.
