Yesterday, Twitter (and really the internet as a whole) was aflame with notifications of Brad Richards‘ retirement. After 15 seasons spread across five franchises and two Stanley Cups, the center scored 298 goals and 634 assists.
The clincher, though, is that he spent what was arguably his personal best season in Dallas as a Star. The season before he signed with the Rangers in 2011, Richards scored a 28 goals as a Star, a career-best. Although he never won a cup in Dallas, Richards was undoubtedly on his A-game with them.
News of Brad Richard’s retirement has brought into perspective some things for me and made me wonder.
