You can faintly detect the smell of hockey in the air. As the dog days of August and summer as a whole slowly die out, the Dallas Stars and the NHL are quickly creeping back into the spotlight.
In 26 days, the Stars will regroup in Cedar Park at the home of their AHL affiliate, the Texas Stars, to begin their 2017 training camp session. And in 30 days, competitive hockey action begins at the American Airlines Center as Dallas kicks off their preseason against St. Louis.
It’s a fun time to be a hockey fan. The excitement is just around the corner, and it will be here before we know it.
