The Dallas Stars played Hitch hockey in their first game against their former coach, and that may have been part of the problem.
The Dallas Morning News’ Matthew DeFranks took a look at the scoring drought that followed the Stars into their 1-0 OT loss to the Edmonton Oilers:
The loss was the Stars’ fourth in the last five games and second time shut out this season. Dallas has scored four goals total in its last four losses.
“I thought it was a really good defensive, checking game by both teams,” Montgomery said.
