The Dallas Stars are home for the holidays, and last night they made sure their reunion with their fans would be a happy one. The team scored four unanswered goals in the third period to earn their 6-2 victory over the Calgary Flames, and looked very much like a playoffs team in the process.
The big win was also a gut-check moment for the team, writes Stars senior staff writer Mike Heika. After enduring two consecutive losses during a disappointing road trip, they sought to rebound from a week of misfortune and make a statement:
Playing their ninth game in 17 days with travel involved in eight of them, Dallas could have easily lost steam late against the Calgary Flames at American Airlines Center.
