The Dallas Stars revealed their Winter Classic jersey (or sweater, if that floats your boat) yesterday, and man, do they look good. And while most people only care about the design itself, the story behind the design is rather intriguing.
The Stars organization created a five-person committee to oversee the creation of the new jersey, which was designed by Adidas. The committee had several key requests they wanted check-marked, but at the top of the list was to tie the design to Dallas specifically:
“Our primary goal, the one that we gave to Adidas and the NHL from the outset was: We want a classic hockey look that is uniquely tied to Dallas,” Stars senior vice president of marketing Dan Stuchal said.
