You can probably associate a handful of things with New Year’s Eve. From the silver confetti, to the New York City celebration, and plenty of partying that runs into the early hours of Jan. 1, most people have NYE memories. But for hockey fans in Texas, NYE has also come to mean a Dallas Stars home game.
The Stars initially played their first NYE game during their inaugural season in 1993-94, they have been playing an NYE game in every 82-game season since 1997-98. The results have been favorable for the home team, with Dallas posting a 12-5-0-2 record since beginning the tradition.
