Texas racked up another AHL in-season award this afternoon with the announcement of forward Cameron Hughes as player of the week for last week. Hughes' four goals and four assists in just three games earned him the honors, which included his third career AHL hat trick. Just one night later, he tied a career high with a four point night in Rockford (1-3=4).
Hughes has been steadily climbing the charts for Texas in the scoring ranks. He now sits third on the team behind Antonio Stranges and Justin Hryckowian. All three sit in the top 20 of league scoring with Hughes ranking 18th.
