The Vegas Golden Knights will get to stock their team starting June 17, and that means they have the opportunity to take a player from the Dallas Stars. Vegas will have the ability to select one player from all 30 teams, but also could strike a deal with the team to take draft picks or prospects.
Each team is allowed to protect seven forwards, three defensemen and one goalie (or eight skaters and one goalie). There are also young players who are exempt and don't have to be protected, like Mattias Janmark and Julius Honka for the Stars.
