BOISE, Idaho -- The Stars will finally have an opponent on Tuesday for their preseason opener in Dallas, but on Sunday, scrimmaging themselves sufficed.
The Stars finished their first training camp under coach Jim Montgomery in Boise on Sunday, capping a weekend in which Dallas installed parts of Montgomery's systems and established their style of play. As Team White beat Team Green 5-3, Montgomery came away Sunday pleased with the offensive puck possession but disappointed in the defensive effort.
"I thought were supporting pucks really well offensively," Montgomery said. "If there was a negative to that, the puck pressure wasn't as good as what I would like.
