The Dallas Stars announced today that they have signed defenseman Alex Petrovic on a two-year, two-way deal. Petrovic, who was a pending unrestricted free agent, has been with Texas since the 2021-22 season.
Petrovic got limited opportunities in Dallas, mostly playing in the AHL with Texas, until the 2024 postseason. The vet defender slotted in as the sixth defenseman for Dallas over seven games, including all of the games against Edmonton.
At the time, speaking with Gavin Spittle and Sean Shapiro on the Spits and Suds podcast, I argued that Petrovic had made himself a significant chunk of money with his play in the NHL playoffs.
