FRISCO -- The Stars may be re-discovering a top-four defenseman at this week’s development camp: Stephen Johns.
Johns is a 27-year-old defenseman who missed all of last season with post-traumatic headaches and skated on Tuesday morning with the dozens of Stars prospects in town trying to get noticed by Dallas' brass. He represents an internal option for the team’s need of another defenseman and a potential partner for teenager Miro Heiskanen to play with.
Johns rarely practiced with the Stars during the second half of last season, and Tuesday’s session on the ice was a step towards him playing in the fall.
