NEW YORK -- Adam Cracknell has defied the odds this season, and that's been good news for the Stars.
Cracknell signed a two-way contract with Dallas on July 3, and it looked at the time like he might be an AHL regular available for call-up now and then. However, Valeri Nichushkin decided to stay in Russia, Ales Hemsky and Mattias Janmark suffered injuries that could keep them out for most of the season, and the Stars also spent long stretches without Cody Eakin, Patrick Sharp and Jiri Hudler.
As a result, Cracknell has logged 40 games, tallied five goals and been a plus-9 on the season.
