Heading into one of the most crucial stretches of the season, the Stars will be relying heavily on Kari Lehtonen.
Stars coach Ken Hitchcock said that Ben Bishop, who injured his knee Monday when he got tangled up with teammate Dan Hamhuis in a game against Ottawa, will join the team on their six-game road trip and possibly start skating next week. But that means Lehtonen will be in goal Friday against Anaheim, Sunday against Pittsburgh and possibly Tuesday and Wednesday against Montreal and Toronto.
That's a pretty significant test for the 34-year-old goaltender who has functioned primarily as a backup this season.
