FRISCO - It figured for goalie Colton Point that a year after the Stars selected him in the fifth round of the 2016 NHL draft, they would take another goalie (Jake Oettinger) in the first round in 2017.
That has been the storyline for Point's career. Nothing comes easily. Another obstacle lies in wait behind the corner.
Selected at No. 278 in the 2014 Ontario Hockey League draft. Sent back for an extra season at the midget-AAA level. A backup at the start of his Junior A and collegiate careers.
Now, paired with the talented Oettinger, who is nine months younger, in the same organization.
