With their 5th round, 132nd overall selection in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft, the Dallas Stars select center Jacob Peterson from Frolunda in the Swedish SuperElit league.
Peterson was ranked 168th by Hockeyprospect.com and 88th among all European skaters by NHL Central Scouting. He picked up 15 goals and 12 assists for 27 points in 44 games in 2016-17. He played for Sweden at the 2017 IIHF U18s, picking up one goal and one assists in seven games.
The Stars have an incredible track record of drafting out of Sweden, so they definitely feel like they have a good hunch on this pick.
