With DeAndre Jordan headed to Dallas, here's the Mavericks' road map for the next steps of the offseason

And now, we wait.

Again.

The Mavericks will sweat out the next few days until they can officially get DeAndre Jordan's signature on the one-year, $20 million-plus contract to which he agreed shortly after free agency opened late Saturday night.

They likely won't be sweating as much as they did in 2015, when Jordan committed to the Mavericks, then reneged and re-signed with the Los Angeles Clippers.

Those Clippers had Blake Griffin and Chris Paul. Those guys are long gone.

Jordan could still be tempted by other teams around the league, but the feeling is that the Mavericks have this one secured and Jordan will be in Dallas for next season, bringing stability to the interior of their defense and powerful rim attacks in the pick-and-roll.
