If he had a mulligan, Nico Harrison would stick with his first shot.

Of course the Mavericks’ general manager and president of basketball operations has heard the catcalls, the chants, howls from a relatively small percentage of Mavericks’ fans that still harbor traitorous feelings toward Harrison for the trading of Luka Doncic.

Doesn’t matter.

The overriding problem with playing hard-nosed defense for Luka remains the single most compelling reason that the Mavericks traded him, Harrison said Tuesday.

“Yeah, there’s no regrets on the trade,” he said. “Part of my job is to do the best thing for the Mavericks, not only today, but also in the future.
