TORONTO - Dennis Smith Jr. is making more adjustments than anybody else for the Mavericks this season.
He's surrounded by more talent than he was in his rookie season. He's being asked to do more and different things. The first four games of the season have included a game-clinching shot against Minnesota, but some hard-to-watch moments along the way.
His mannerisms have sent mixed signals, although some of that could be chalked up to the fact that he's having to think a little too much on the court rather than just playing the game.
And he remains perhaps the most vital piece of the Mavericks' puzzle.
