When it comes to finishing close games, aside from two guys, there's no guarantee who gets minutes for Mavs

Yogi Ferrell has seen both sides of the Mavericks' crunch-time strategy.

He's been in the game to help win or lose it. He's watched from the bench while others try to do the job.

It's the way life is for the Mavericks' rotation players - only two of whom, Wesley Matthews and Harrison Barnes - are assured winning-time minutes in close games.

And that's OK, Ferrell said.

"I say, ride the hot hand," he said Tuesday. "We're going to want those guys on the court, no matter who they are, if we want to win the game.
