On Sunday night, Dallas Mavericks Head Coach Rick Carlisle was in Oakland, California.
Why?
He was there to be a part of a ceremony taking place at Oracle Arena before the start of Game 2 of the NBA Finals.
What was the ceremony?
The ceremony was to present the 2017 Chuck Daly Lifetime Achievement Award on behalf of the National Basketball Coaches Association (NBCA) of former coaching greats Al Attles and Hubie Brown.
So why Carlisle?
Carlisle is the President of the NBCA and issued a statement in that capacity.
