NEW YORK - Dirk Nowitzki, like all the Mavericks, was saddened to find out that Wesley Matthews had a fractured bone in his right leg that means his season is likely over.
Until, that is, he spoke with Matthews.
"I talked to him and he said he still moves better than me," Nowitzki said with a big grin. "That's messed up."
Clearly, the injury hasn't soured Matthews' sense of humor. If you can't poke fun at the No. 6 all-time NBA scorer, who can you poke fun at, right?
Kidding aside, Matthews' absence clearly will open up some opportunities for other players during the final 15 games of the season.
