They are the only two members of the NBA draft class of 1998 still going. And going. And going . . .
Last month Dirk Nowitzki, 40, and ex-Mavericks teammate Vince Carter, 41, signed on to play their 21st NBA seasons.
When the regular season tips off in October, Mavericks icon and the Atlanta Hawks' Carter will tie the NBA record for most seasons played, sharing that mark with Robert Parish, Kevin Willis and Kevin Garnett.
Nowitzki, though, will own the solo distinction of playing the most seasons with only one franchise.
Garnett played for three teams, Parish four, Willis and (soon) Carter eight apiece.
