Two three-pointers by Hayes were key in Pistons’ 131-125 overtime win over Mavs

DETROIT — Killian Hayes drilled a pair of late three-pointers and the Detroit Pistons held on and defeated the Dallas Mavericks, 131-125, in overtime Thursday night at Little Caesars Arena.

The loss dropped the Mavs to 10-11 heading into Saturday’s contest in New York against the Knicks before they return home to face the Phoenix Suns on Monday.

Hayes finished with 22 points on 10-of-13 shooting. And his two critical three-pointers accounted for the game’s final six points over the game’s last 75 seconds.

Luka Doncic led the Mavs with 35 points, five rebounds, 10 assists and three steals.
