The Mavericks had the opportunity to try a bold experiment by drafting - and keeping - Trae Young with the No. 5 pick in the NBA Draft on Thursday.
Instead, Mark Cuban and his front office will send Young, whom they drafted No. 5 overall, to the Atlanta Hawks for Luka Doncic and a protected first round pick, according to Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports.
The concerns about the former Oklahoma guard's size (6-foot-1, 175 pounds), defensive inconsistencies and shot selection are all fair.
