Here's our three quick takeaways from the Mavericks' 93-92 loss at Houston Sunday night, which dropped their record to 0-3, the first time they've lost their first three games since 2011-12.

Matthews' impact: No, Wesley Matthews didn't light it up with his shot. He made just 9 of his 25 heaves. But he had a terrific all-around, capped with some marvelous one-on-one defense that forced James Harden's airball from about 16 feet with 20.
