Jason Kidd is best-known in these parts as the Hall of Fame point guard who, at age 38, helped lead the Mavericks to the 2010-2011 NBA Championship.
It's likely that far fewer fans recall Kidd's first tour with the Mavericks. They made him the No. 2 pick of the 1994 draft and he became that season's NBA Co-Rookie of the Year, along with Detroit's Grant Hill. Google it, kids.
Why the history lesson? It's because Kidd, 45, sat next to owner Mark Cuban during the Mavericks' Monday night rout of Orlando and got his first in-person look at Luka Doncic.
