The Mavs have shown us a lot in their first few games of the season. They’ll be fun, entertaining and quite likable.
From a basketball perspective, the guard rotation for Dallas has been the most positive development.
Last year’s starting backcourt of Rajon Rondo and Monta Ellis blew up in the Mavs’ face. The combination of the two killed Rick Carlisle’s flow offense while making the Mavs a beating to watch at times.
The new backcourt of Deron Williams and Wes Matthews already looks much better in Carlisle’s system. Combine that with Devin Harris, J.J. Barea and Raymond Felton as the main guards off the bench, and the guard rotation is easily the biggest strength of the Mavs so far.
